Hours/week: 37.5
CDE Special Education License
Type: 12 months contract (School year), August 03, 2026 – May 28, 2027 (43 Weeks)
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:35 AM – 3:50 PM (37.5 Hours/Week)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a Center-Based classroom setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is designed for a compassionate educator who thrives in a specialized environment, providing intensive support to students with diverse learning needs. They will lead a center-based program focused on maximizing student potential through individualized instruction, behavioral support, and collaborative care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a center-based classroom environment designed for students requiring intensive special education support.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique academic and functional goals of each student.
- Design and deliver specialized instruction in core subject areas, adapting curriculum to meet varied cognitive and developmental levels.
- Facilitate behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and provide social-emotional support within a structured classroom setting.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including SLPs, OTs, and paraprofessionals, to provide holistic student care.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies based on data-driven results.
- Manage and mentor classroom paraprofessionals to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom atmosphere that respects student diversity.
- Maintain meticulous documentation for state compliance, progress reporting, and legal IEP requirements.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievements, challenges, and home-support strategies.
- Participate in school-wide professional development and collaborative planning sessions at Achieve Academy.
- Ensure all classroom activities align with Colorado state standards and district-level special education policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Active Colorado Special Education Certificate (Required)
- Previous experience or strong interest in Center-Based instruction
- Appropriate Special Services Provider or Teaching License for the State of Colorado
- Willingness to work with students across diverse grade levels (TBD)
- Strong skills in IEP development, data collection, and behavioral management
- Skilled at modifying lessons for students with significant cognitive or developmental delays.
- Ability to lead a classroom team of support staff and work with related service providers.
- Dedicated to supporting students in a high-needs environment with patience and professionalism.
- Understanding of the legal frameworks governing special education and IEP implementation.
